Meet our vicar

Hi - I'm Tric Malcolm and I have been the vicar at St Luke's since February 2005. My father was a priest so I grew up in the Anglican Church. As a young person I experienced diverse church communities and this has led me to develop a style that blends the traditional, contemporary and alternative.

Underlying my ministry is the fundamental belief that God is a God of love and that God calls us to show that love to the world. God showed us the depth of that love in many ways, but by far the most powerful was in Jesus becoming human. In becoming human Christ showed us how to love, sometimes in costly and difficult ways.

Christ loved us so much that he journeyed for us to the cross to bring us healing, redemption and unity with God. That love is too powerful not to share. I believe that I am called to live out the potential that God has intended for me and to call and equip others to do the same.

I have a strong commitment to good liturgy that reflects Anglican traditions and scripture, and that moves people into the presence of God. I am a creative person, especially in the visual arts. This influences my approach to engaging people in their faith journey.

Tric has a BA honours (first class) in History and a BA in History and Politics from Victoria University Wellington. She is married to Jason and they have three young daughters - Rose, Charlotte and Trinity.
